What is Tarot? Its benefit & significance in once life

Hello and Welcome to my Blog. I am Dee Madan, your Tarot card reader. I am here to talk about what is Tarot and how to get optimal results from Tarot.

For many of us, a “Tarot card reading” means a woman in flowing robes, leaning over a small table in a candlelit room, foretelling some tragedy is up. But that’s not really what Tarot cards are about. In fact, they’re not even really meant to tell your fortune or future. As the occult organization, The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn says, “The most powerful sources of information come from within; and the Tarot aids in coming in contact with one’s Higher Self.”

Wondering…, what does it really mean? … How a deck of cards can possibly tell you anything about yourself. Tarot card reading is the practice of using tarot cards to gain insight into the past, present or future by formulating a question, then drawing and interpreting cards. And you do not have to be psychic to become a tarot reader.

As a person receiving a Tarot reading, your interpretation of the cards is a result of the factors in your life that shape who you are and what you are about. The questions you have about your life when you consult the Tarot reader, are projected onto the pictures, so you derive the answers from what you see. In this way, the Tarot is useful in helping us to tap into our subconscious to find the answers that we might never consciously think of.

To put it simply, each deck of Tarot cards has 78 cards, with 22 Major Arcanas and 56 Minor Arcanas, with images and numbers assigned to it. Each of the Minor Arcanas are divided into 4 suits or life elements…. Air, Fire, Water and Earth…further know as Wands, Swords, Cups and Pentacles. A reader then draws cards for the person receiving the reading, which is called a spread, to do the tarot reading for the question asked.

Speaking of readings, the first thing to know is that there are actually two different types of Tarot readings: question readings and open readings. In question readings, you are addressing a specific question or situation. An open reading addresses the larger aspects of your life rather than a specific situation area or question.

Open readings are usually done when you’re entering a new phase of life, such as getting married, graduating from college or starting a family and so on.

Coming back to question readings, Tarot is not intended to answer specific yes or no questions. It also should not be used to make decisions, but instead should be used as a guide to help you make the decision yourself. For this reason when you are looking for an insightful and powerful Tarot reading, the way a question is stated is very important. When you start asking the right types of questions, you’ll begin to see the true spirit of the Tarot coming through.

If your question is vague and general, so will be the answer. If your question is detailed and specific, so will be the answer. Generally, for the vague types of ‘questions’, I encourage the client to focus in on an area that is important to them or to nominate a specific question for the Tarot.

Face-to-face or Open Tarot readings are a little different. For these types of situations, we draw three cards and look at the key themes. Use these cards like a magnifying glass to go in deeper.

In most cases, an initially inappropriate question can be slightly tweaked or rephrased in order for it to be appropriate for the Tarot cards. Thus, for e.g.…., if the initial question is something like, “Will I get married this year?” We may like to rephrase it to, “What do I need to know about getting married this year?” or “What do I need to do to improve my chances of getting married this year?”

Further e.g. for questions like …should I take the Job? As, you know; you need to take responsibility and accountability for your own life and your own decisions. For any other “Should I…” type of question. It is better to ask the Tarot, “What is the impact if I take this path?” or “What can I expect if I do XYZ?” In that way, you are the one still making the decision, and not the Tarot cards, and you’re focused on how you can manifest your dream job.

That being said, the question does not have to be perfectly worded. Always consider what you really want to know or understand about a situation. What is most important is that you are clear about what you’re asking the Tarot cards and that you are empowered to positively impact your future.

I believe that everyone has the potential to improve their life, yet they do not have the access to the information they need in order to do so. My ability to tap into the energy systems of my clients, and touch on important details from past, present and future events enables me to provide my clients with useful information in order to make impactful life changes.
